Austin is 50 mins away and the closest. Dallas is 2 hours away and Houston is a 3 hour drive.Flights will NOT get cheaper. Plan accordingly.If you need to fly, flights into Alberquerque and then car rental, might be much more financially feasible than flights out of Austin or Dallas. Or you could stay in Texas longer and fly out at a later date.

Yes. We have limited spots, and tickets for the shuttle are on our ticketing site. - Friday Pickup at 11am or 2pm from Austin Airport. Arrive at Camp Tahuaya around 12p or 3pm.- Tues leave the venue at 6am, for 9:30am drop off at Austin Airport.
Depending on which campsite you choose, you’ll be 3-15 min walk away. We’ll provide wagons to get your stuff easily to your campsite.
There are grassy areas and woodland areas, with lovely trees for shade, picnic pavilions, fire rings, and restrooms/showers nearby.

Yes, both. There are 12 private showers in 3 different areas at Camp Tahuaya. Still be mindful of the time you take! Don’t leave your toiletries in the shower, unless you want others to use them.
There will be canoes and life vests (adult and child sizes) free to use. The lake is often used for fishing, and there won’t be an official lifeguard on duty, so swim at your own risk.There is also a beautiful stream that runs from the lake.

Awaken with a morning sound bath from the fairies flitting around the tents. Pick up some tea before moving your body at embodied flow. Gather for breakfast. Sing a fun call and response song during Morning Circle and learn about the goings on of the day. Drop your kids at the Kids Korner while you enjoy contact improv, singing songs, or a meditation. Meet your kids and make new friends at lunch. Then enjoy a singing ceremony or laughter yoga with your kiddos. Dinner time! Live performance and dancing! Share songs and stories by the sacred fire at night. Tuck in and rest well.
Together, we’ll create a ceremony. It will be a unique, and potent moment we get to share, to connect with the land and the cosmos! Imagine singing sacred songs in a group, feeling connection to each other, the land and this moment, and then making a procession to combine with other groups, joining together in one song around the lake. As the song comes to an end, we observe the eclipse of the sun by the moon and feel the awe and wonder of this shared human experience.
We will likely have a pop-up space for attendees wanting to offer their workshop. The sign-up will be first come first serve at the festival, not organized beforehand. At this time, we aren't seeking more workshops/offerings- we've have an influx of applicants!
A cute canopied area, providing hot water and some pre-brewed tea, honey, plant based milks, sugar. It will be serviced by our Tea connoisseur and volunteers (maybe you!).
During a song circle, “Songs are shared that are simple, easy to learn and memorize, and then sung together, sometimes with layering harmonies and different parts! You don’t need to be an expert at singing at all. Not only is it a powerful way to sing outside of societal ideas of what a “good singer is” but to practice stepping into opening your voice in a supportive and loving group container. A Pod is a group of narwhals ;).. A pod is a small group circle, for authentic relating games and time to share (roughly 15 people per pod). Each pod will have a facilitator who will create a safe container for each person listen with an open heart and practice taking ownership of their story. The people you meet in your pod will be a great anchorpoint during Celest Fest. Pods will meet Fri, Sat, and Sun, and each person will have a chance to speak, to be heard, and to listen.
We plan to have a Closing Circle on Monday at 7:30pm, before a bonus Ecstatic Dance.
Yes and no. In lieu of vendors during the entire festival experience, we'll hold a Marketplace on Monday 4p-7p where anyone attending can sell or trade their gifts and crafts. This way, vendors participate and then everyone can focus their time on all the beautiful crafts during the Marketplace. Purchase your ticket and you're good to go! There is no extra charge to sell during the Marketplace.The only selling during the entirety of the festival will be by Cacao Breath (providing cacao), band merchandise during eve concerts, and limited food (for those who didn't purchase festival meals in advance).
On Monday from 4p-7p, anyone at the festival can sell or trade their crafts, art, gifts, etc... Besides 4p-5:30p dinner, The Marketplace will be the only thing planned, so everyone will get a chance to explore each other's gifts and crafts. This way, vendors get to experience the festival and still offer their crafts.
Yes! We welcome live art and will also have a community art space for anyone to add to a large canvas. You are welcome to set up during a workshop, offering, or music to paint, draw, etc. Be mindful of the space and clean up after yourself.We ask that you not sell any of your art until the Marketplace on Monday from 4p-7p. There is no extra fee to sell. If you have a pop-up tent you'd like to set up, just approve it with us first at celestfest at gmail

Possibly... We are considering adding a bodywork tent but this would be a space where anyone could go and receive or give bodywork, not a space to receive payment for services. Consider it your offering to our pop-up village. So if you have a canopy and tables and would like to talk about an exchange for providing that space, apply on our Facilitate form in the "Get Involved" section.
First off, we understand you may have some nerves around this.. We’d like to say that we will spend time at the festival to fully prepare you for the space we will enter during this ritual. The simple structure: First a storytelling time, then gathering in our Pods, then the ritual, facilitated by grief tenders from around the country to hold space, provide music, and create a container where grief will feel safe to come out to express itself in whatever way it needs.
We invite you to read about the 5 gates of grief, as presented by Francis Weller in The Wild Edge of Sorrow. Spend some time letting any grief arise related to any of the 5 gates. This isn’t mandatory, just an opportunity to deepen your relationship with grief. It is welcome here. If you wish, you can bring a significant item to the festival that speaks to you in regards to grief.
While you immerse yourself in morning movement and daily offerings, your kids can enjoy a world of creativity and play under the expert guidance of our facilitators. From crafts to nature adventures, there's something for every young adventurer! (Kids can join workshops with you too)
It’s open during all workshops and movement offerings, but not during meals or evening performances since we hope your kiddos will enjoy those with us! Generally 8a-9a, 11:00a-1:00p, 3p-5p.
— Store food in a vehicle, critter-safe food box by camp, or a cooler with lid. — Free ice is available by the lodge for your cooler, but there’s no refrigeration. — There will be an outdoor kitchen or you can set up a place to cook by your campsite.
There will be limited meals to purchase on site. We encourage you to bring most of your food or purchase festival meals in advance - these meals will sell out. Festival meals are cooked on site by our skilled chef and team. Don’t forget to bring your plates!

We aren't providing Tues breakfast with a purchased festival meal package. If we have leftover food, we'll put it out. Unfortunately, we’ll be rushing to clean and pack up, so it’s best you make a community effort to make food together with your own devices or plan for an intermittent fast.

You can run a generator from 7am-11pm, if needed. Be mindful if it is a noisy generator, and turn it off when not using. Please turn generators off from 11pm-7am, to respect your camping neighbors.
